Avianca cancels B787 Heathrow service

1 Apr 2015 by GrahamSmith

Colombian carrier Avianca has cancelled plans to roster a B787-8 Dreamliner on to its Bogota-London Heathrow route.

The airline will increase its service between the two cities from four-times weekly to daily on July 1, but will continue to fly an A330-200 aircraft on the route.

Avianca will instead operate the Dreamliner twice-daily to Madrid from the same date, reports airlineroute.net.

Outbound services AV026 and AV010 will depart Bogota at 1443 and 2143 respectively and land in Madrid the next day at 0725 and 1425. Return services AV027 and AV011 will leave Madrid at 0925 and 1720 and arrive in Bogota at 1232 and 2027.

Avianca took delivery of its first B787 at the end of last year (see news, December 2014). It launched its first service to Heathrow last summer (see news, February 2014).
