Intercontinental Hotels Group will open a Crowne Plaza property in midtown New York City in 2017.
The 251-room new-build will be located on West 36th Street in Manhattan's Garment District.
It will feature an 80-foot glass atrium at the entrance, flexible meeting space, a fitness centre and a restaurant/bar.
The hotel will be the brand's fourth in New York City, where there are two Crowne Plazas in Times Square and one at JFK airport.
Joel Eisemann, IHG's chief development officer, The Americas, said: "We are enthused to be adding a new Crowne Plaza hotel to our New York City portfolio. This is a thriving market for hotel development and among the top destinations in the world for business and leisure travelers."
The hotel will be managed by IHG on behalf of owner LRR Holdings. The majority shareholders of LRR are Lance Steinberg and Frank Chan, who also two Even Hotel (another IHG brand) properties that are currently under construction in New York.
During 2015, IHG is scheduled to open Crowne Plaza-Memphis East, Crowne Plaza-Pittsburgh West–Green Tree and Crowne Plaza-Stamford, while renovations are taking place at Crowne Plaza hotels in Seattle, Los Angeles, Charlotte and Greenville.
Earlier this year, IHG opened Crowne Plaza London - Battersea (see news, January 23).
