Niccolo by Marco Polo is set to open its first property in Chengdu on April 15.
As reported previously by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific (see here), the brand offers a collection of chic hotels that will initially be limited to the mainland China market, opening in some of the country’s most highly prized addresses.
The 230-room urban luxury hotel in Chengdu is also the first Ultratravel Collection property in China. Membership to this exclusive collection is reserved for "the most luxurious hotels and resorts in the world".
“The opening of Niccolo Chengdu will be an exhilarating event as it is the first of the Niccolo brand,” said Andrew Abram, general manager. “To have an exceptional team looking after each of our guests in a truly luxurious setting in the centre of the city is a unique concept that everyone should experience. We look forward to welcoming you to Niccolo Chengdu soon.”
Niccolo Chengdu is located within the International Finance Square shopping mall in the centre of town. It is closely linked to the city’s transportation hubs, with Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport just a 25-minute drive away, and the subway network within walking distance.
All guestrooms and suites have fashion inspired interiors by leading designers, and feature natural textiles and leathers in subtle earth tones. Floor to ceiling windows offer panoramic city views, and help flood the rooms with natural light.
Dining options include The Tea Lounge, Niccolo Kitchen (all-day dining), Yue Hin Chinese restaurant and The Bar. In addition, the hotel offers a range of event spaces with the centrepiece being the Niccolo Ballroom on the 7th floor. The Conservatory – an oval glass venue surrounded by a sculpture garden on the 8th floor, can accommodate banquets, weddings and celebrations.
Finally, guests looking to rejuvenate can check out the hotel’s wellness facilities on the 6th floor that comes with a 20-metre pool, dry saunas and a fully equipped gym.
