Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Changi Airport Group (CAG) have extended the Changi Transit Programme partnership through to March 31, 2016.
Under the partnership, SIA or Silk Air customers that transit through Singapore’s Changi Airport are entitled to a Changi Dollar Voucher (CDV). Short-haul passengers will receive S$20 while those on a long haul flight will receive S$40.
This offer also applies to SIA or Silk Air customers who are transferring to select Air New Zealand-operated flights to or from Auckland, as a result of the partnership between the two Star Alliance members that began earlier this year (see here).

The CDV is valid for a one-time use at more than 510 retail, food and service outlets across all three terminals. More significantly for business travellers, it can also be used for a one-time access to the Ambassador Transit Lounge at Terminal 2 and 3 for up to four hours. Normally access to the two lounges costs S$30 or requires a Priority Pass. Services include showers, light refreshments and reading materials.

Changi Airport boasts a wide range of amenities including complimentary wifi, movie theatres and themed gardens, making it an attractive haven for those with extended layover periods. Connections between individual terminals are also easy thanks to the convenient Skytrain transport system.

“Transfer traffic is a vital component of our air traffic which helps bolster Changi Airport’s position as a premier air hub in Asia,” said Lim Ching Kiat, CAG’s senior vice president for market development. “With the range of different activities and facilities for transit passengers offered at Changi Airport, we would like to encourage more passengers to explore the airport and enjoy the Changi Experience during their layover".
