Qatar Airways' much-delayed first class lounge at Hamad International airport will open at the end of April.
The carrier's CEO Akbar Al Baker confirmed the news to Business Traveller at this week's ITB conference in Berlin.
The lounge has been delayed well beyond the opening of the airport. Al Baker made reference to the delay saying it was as a result of "very high standards and amenities" being installed.

It is believed that access to the first class lounge will be restricted to those flying in First, with Oneworld Emerald members continuing to have access to the Al Mourjan Business Class lounge (see news, August 2014).
In other news, Al Baker confirmed that the final part of the airport would open at the end of May.
Hamad International will then prepare for further expansion with a Sir Norman Foster-designed terminal taking its capacity to some 50 million by 2020.
