Qatar Airways will double the number of movies and TV shows that it has on board over the coming months. This means that the Gulf carrier will soon offer 2,000 entertainment channels – up from 950 currently available, including 200 audio tracks and 50 games.
As previously reported by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific (see here), Qatar Airways recently began offering an exciting lineup of Oscar-winning movies including this year’s Best Movie and Best Director flick Birdman, and The Theory of Everything starring Best Actor winner Eddie Redmayne.
Other Oscar-winning and nominated movies debuting this month include Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Imitation Game; Interstellar by acclaimed director Christopher Nolan; Foxcatcher featuring Oscar nominee Steve Carell; and Wild starring Oscar nominated-actresses Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern.
In addition, there will be an expanded line-up of Arabic movies onboard, including Geran El Saad, a family comedy featuring Sameh Hussien and Kuwaiti box office hit Elisa Khatafha Jameel, as well as Rock the Casbah starring Omar El Sherief and Nadeen Labaky.
In the television category, Qatar Airways already boasts an excellent selection of more than 850 episodes of popular shows including A to Z, Brooklyn Nine Nine, 2 Broke Girls, Flight of the Concords, Loui, Modern Family and New Girl season 4.
However, the Gulf carrier will be boosting this with hit dramas such as: Downton Abbey, Fargo, Believe, Almost Human, Constantine, Forever, From Dusk till Dawn, Gotham, Happy Valley, Mad Men, How to Get Away with Murder, Person of Interests, Stalker, Suites, The Good Wife and The Flash – all of which are available throughout March.
