Qatar Airways has expanded its codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways to cover even more routes.
The expansion will enhance the Gulf carrier’s passengers’ options by an additional ten sectors from Bangkok to Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Luang Prabang, Vientiane, Nay Pyi Taw and Siem Reap, together with Koh Samui to Singapore, Phuket and Kuala Lumpur and Phuket to Chiang Mai.
This complements the existing codeshare partnership that already sees Qatar Airways place its marketing code on Bangkok Airways-operated flights out of Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Lampang, Trat, Sukhothai, Samui, Mandalay, Yangon and Phnom Penh.
Qatar Airways group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “It has been a period of rapid expansion for Qatar Airways, with new route launches around the globe. The addition of these code-share routes with Bangkok Airways further enhances our competitive offering, while providing our passengers with an unrivalled global network among the world’s leading airlines.”
The Oneworld member currently serves Bangkok four-times daily from its hub in Doha. Three of the flights are operated by the B777-300ER, while the fourth is served by the A380 – first launched to the Thai capital in December last year.
