Melia Hotels International will open its first Innside property in Scotland and its second Innside in England in 2017.
Innside Glasgow and Innside Birmingham will join the upcoming Innside Manchester, the business lifestyle brand’s first UK property, which opens later this year.
The 175-room Glasgow hotel will be located in the city’s former British Telecom headquarters and will feature a restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, “wellness” centre and car park.
Innside Birmingham will have 180 rooms and will occupy the first 25 floors of the new Regal Tower, located in the city centre next to Brindley Place.
Gabriel Escarrer, vice chairman and CEO at Melia Hotels International, said: “Innside by Melia is the company’s fastest growing brand, we are very proud to have taken this brand from its home in Germany, where it continues to enjoy an excellent reputation, to new destinations in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.
“It is a new market leader in city hotels and a flagship for our company positioning worldwide.”
Innside currently has 13 hotels in its portfolio and 22 hotels in the pipeline in the UK, US, Germany, Chile, Venezuela, China, Indonesia, Italy and Brazil.
Melia will open its first Innside property in New York City next year (see news, March 2014).
