Ascott expands in Asia

6 Feb 2015 by Clement Huang

The Ascott Limited has continued to expand its operations across Asia with the introduction of three new serviced apartments in January. The properties are located in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam – three key growing cities that boast excellent business and leisure opportunities.

The Singapore company is aiming to offer a portfolio of 40,000 serviced apartment units by the end of 2015.

“Ascott is the largest international serviced residence owner-operator in the world. We have opened our first properties in Cyberjaya, Sri Racha and Hai Phong to cater to the increasing demand from multinational companies that are setting up base in these growing cities,” said Lee Chee Koon, Ascott’s chief executive.

“Globally, we have over 50 properties still to be opened, of which 20 are slated to open this year. These include properties in China, India and Indonesia.”

Citadines DPulze Cyberjaya, Malaysia

A 20-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the Citadines DPulz Cyberjaya is located in Malaysia’s Multimedia Super Corridor, and situated close to Cyberjaya’s brand new shopping centre. The property itself offers a selection of studios, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. Facilities include a swimming pool, fitness corner and meeting rooms.

Citadines Grand Central Sri Racha

For people unaware of Sri Racha, it is Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard region – located close to the Laem Chabang Port and several industrial estates where many multinational companies are housed. A serviced apartment property here makes commercial sense given the location’s close proximity to international schools and medical facilities. Like its Malaysian counterpart, the property comprises of studios, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. It also has a sauna, fitness and business corners, as well as a rooftop swimming pool.

Somerset Central TD Hai Phong City

The final new property under Ascott’s portfolio is situated in Vietnam’s third largest city, and is within a ten-minute drive from both Cat Bi International Airport and Hai Phong Train Station. As a fast growing hub for international business, Hai Phong is known for its food processing, as well as heavy and light industries. All apartments in the Somerset Central TD Hai Phong City come with fully fitted kitchens, while recreation facilities include a swimming pool, common lounge area, business corner, and play area for kids.
