Korean Air has signed a codeshare agreement with American Airlines (AA), which will see the former place its flight code on the latter’s flights between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Seoul-Incheon International Airport.
"We are delighted with this partnership which will provide our customers with better access between Korea and the US and to destinations throughout North, Central and South America," said Yong Soon Park, Korean Air’s senior vice president of International Affairs and Alliance.
Subject to regulatory approval, codeshare flights are expected to begin from April 2015.
The partnership will also see members of Korean Air’s SKYPASS programme earn miles when travelling on AA-operated flights between Incheon and Dallas/Fort Worth.
AA deploys a retrofitted B777-200 on its Dallas–Seoul route, with the aircraft offering its new fully lie-flat business class product. Other notable features include the plane’s modern interior and a walk-up bar – complete with unique lighting, and a dramatic archway.
