Xiamen Air will begin flying from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport to Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport from February 8.
A two-class B737-800 will be deployed on the route every day.
The service will depart Xiamen at 1820, arriving in Manila at 2020. The return leg leaves the Philippines’ capital at 2120, touching down in China at 2320.
This is the first time Xiamen Air has launched services to the Philippines; previously passengers would have to change to another carrier in Macau or Guangzhou before flying on to Manila. With the new route, Xiamen Air joins Philippines Airlines and China Southern in providing direct services to the capital.
The airline has been boosting its southeast Asian connectivity since last year, increasing flights to Singapore and Bangkok (see here).
