British Airways will move from London Gatwick’s North Terminal to its South Terminal next year.

The national carrier is expected to switch terminals in November 2016.

The move will include the construction of a new BA check-in area and Executive Club lounge.

A spokesman for the airline told Business Traveller: “We are working with Gatwick Airport to ensure the new facilities in the South Terminal will enable us to maintain the highest levels of service for our customers.

“This is an exciting opportunity for British Airways and our customers. The South Terminal has recently received significant investment to its security area and departure lounge, and we will be working with Gatwick to provide our customers with a new check-in area and lounge.

“The South Terminal also has direct access to trains that run to and from central London.”

Last month, BA opened its refurbished lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol airport (see news, December 18).
