Cathay Pacific will increase the number of direct flights between its hub in Hong Kong and San Francisco later this summer.
With effect from June 11, the Oneworld member will offer three extra services per week to The Golden Gate City, taking the total number of weekly flights to 17.
The new services will operate as CX892 and CX893, with the former departing Hong Kong every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1845 and arriving in San Francisco at 1630. The return CX893 service will then take off from the US city on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 0130, before touching back down in Hong Kong at 0640 the following day.
Flights will be operated by a three-class B777-300ER, offering 40 seats in business, 32 in premium economy, and 268 in economy.
“Adding an evening departure out of Hong Kong will give our passengers more flexibility when travelling to San Francisco,” said Cathay Pacific chief operating officer Ruper Hogg.
“These additional flights will also be a boon for the significant number of passengers who choose to travel through the Hong Kong hub to connect to a huge number of Asian destinations in the networks of Cathay Pacific and our sister airline, Dragonair.”
