From January 15, all US-bound Etihad Airways (Etihad) passengers will benefit from US immigration pre-clearance.
Pre-clearance will be granted to travellers on the early morning EY103 to New York JFK and EY183 to San Francisco flights.
The service is already available on mid-morning Etihad flights to Chicago, Dallas Fort Worth, Los Angeles, New York JFK, and Washington DC.
Passengers will benefit from no, or minimal, queues arriving in the US, and the option of checking through any luggage onto US domestic services.
Meanwhile, Etihad has confirmed that it will start scheduled B787-9 operations on the Abu Dhabi – Düsseldorf route from February 1, - Washington Dulles from March 1 and – Mumbai from March 2.
In addition, the UAE carrier will adjust the operational schedule on the Abu Dhabi – Johannesburg route from March 29 following South African Airways’ (SAA) market entry from the same date. As the two airlines will codeshare on the route, Etihad will operate the mid-morning departure (0930) and SAA will operate the early-morning service (0205).
