Qatar Airways is fitting its brand new A350 with mobile phone connectivity and wifi.
The service, provided by OnAir, features a full inflight connectivity suite – Mobile OnAir and Internet OnAir. The products will enable passengers to use their mobile phones, tablets and laptops in exactly the same way they do on the ground.
Having recently taken delivery of its first A350, Qatar Airway’s newest fleet member will take to the sky on January 15 on the Doha–Frankfurt route. OnAir will be available on the inaugural flight.
OnAir is also working on developing the next generation inflight connectivity services, which it plans to launch on the A350 in 2016. Reports indicate the upgraded products will support a browsing speed of up to 50Mbs on the aircraft.
