Low-cost carrier (LCC) HK Express is expanding flight frequency to several destinations in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and mainland China ahead of the travel-heavy Chinese New Year and Easter period.
The Hong Kong-based LCC got the ball rolling last month when it introduced an additional flight to its Chiang Mai, Thailand route on 15 December 2014. It will also add five weekly flights to its Tokyo-Narita and Seoul-Incheon routes, with an additional four weekly frequencies being introduced to Taichung, Taiwan, and three weekly flights to Ningbo, China. All flights will originate from the carrier’s base in Hong Kong.
“These are some of the most popular destinations amongst Hong Kong people,” said HK Express deputy chief executive Andrew Cowen. “It is clear to us people want low-fare options to these destinations, particularly Japan, and we are excited to offer our guests these additional flights in time for Chinese New Year and Easter.”
The new flights to Seoul–Incheon will run from 5 February, while those to Tokyo-Narita will commence the day after. Meanwhile, the additional flights to Ningbo and Taichung will begin from 8 and 9 February respectively.
