5 Jan 2015 by GrahamSmith

Qatar Airways will launch its first service to Amsterdam on June 16.

The Gulf airline will operate a B787 Dreamliner, with 22 fully-flat seats in business class and 232 in economy, on the daily route.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the outbound flight will depart Doha at 0825 and arrive at Amsterdam Schiphol at 1400, while the return service will leave Amsterdam at 1610 and land back in Doha at 2315.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, the outbound flight will take-off from Doha at 0820 and land in Amsterdam at 1355, and the return service will depart Schiphol at 1620 and arrive in Doha at 2325.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker said: "Amsterdam has long been on our list of destinations to introduce to our network, and we are delighted to now be adding this dynamic European city to our route map.

"Qatar Airways looks forward to bringing our five-star service to The Netherlands, and providing travellers with an extensive list of destinations across the Middle East, Africa and the Far East that are easily accessible with a minimal connection time in Doha."

Last week, Qatar Airways announced it will operate a second A380 service to London Heathrow from July (see news, December 29).
