Eurostar is seeing a five per cent rise in passengers during the Christmas period.
The cross-Channel operator is transporting 480,000 passengers over the holiday season, compared to 457,000 during the same period in 2013.
Nick Mercer, Eurostar's commercial director, said: "Our seasonal service to the French Alps has been as popular as ever this year, and we also saw the first of our new connecting services to Geneva depart this month in partnership with TGV Lyria."
In November, Eurostar announced that it had ordered a further seven new e320 trains as it unveiled the new rolling stock at St Pancras International in London (see news, November 13).
