Starwood Hotels & Resorts will expand the number of luxury hotels under its portfolio next year with the opening of Suiran in Kyoto; The Grand Mansion in Nanjing; and The St Regis Macao, Cotai Central.
Suiran will operate under Starwood’s Luxury Collection brand as a ryokan-style accommodation, or "small Japanese inn". The hotel itself will be located in the Arashiyama district in western Kyoto, and occupy part of the grounds of Tenryuji Temple, a noted Unesco World Heritage site.
Suiran, Kyoto
With a very modest 39 rooms, Suiran will also offer a range of amenities including a lobby lounge, signature restaurant, meeting room, as well as fitness centre and spa. As is common across all Luxury Collection properties, the brand’s signature concierge service will be offered.
Next up is The Grand Mansion, the first Nanjing-based hotel under the Luxury Collection brand. Situated at the crossings of Changjiang Road and Dongjian Road, the new property is connected to the Six Dynasties Museum on the archaeological site of Jiankang Palace.
The Grand Mansion, Nanjing
With a total of 153 rooms, including 15 suites, The Grand Mansion will also offer a fitness centre, indoor pool, and spa. Two restaurants, a lobby lounge and terrace bar, will round up the hotel’s dining options.
Both Suiran (Kyoto) and The Grand Mansion (Nanjing) are set to open their doors in March 2015.
The St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central
Under its another luxury portfolio, Starwood will be opening The St Regis Macao, Cotai Central – due to open on August 1, 2015. This 400-room hotel is located on the coveted Cotai Strip – the Special Administrative Region’s own Vegas Strip.
As usual, the famed St Regis Butler Service will be offered, along with a signature restaurant featuring five dining experiences, and a bar and lounge. There will also be an Iridium Spa on the 38th floor and an outdoor swimming pool with 2,457sqm of deck space and private cabanas.
