Hyatt to offer free wifi in all hotels

23 Dec 2014 by GrahamSmith

Hyatt has announced plans to roll out free wifi in all of its properties worldwide.

From February 2015, guests will be able to access wireless internet on an unlimited amount of devices throughout all Hyatt-branded hotels.

Hyatt Gold, Passport, Diamond and Platinum loyalty members will receive a complimentary upgrade to a premium wifi service.

Kristine Rose, vice president of brands for Hyatt, said: "Internet connectivity is no longer an amenity. It has become an integral part of travellers' daily lives and a basic expectation.

"Travellers shouldn't have to remember which brands or locations offer it for free or the strings attached to get it."

Hyatt currently has 573 properties in 48 countries. In the summer, the group unveiled its first New York property under the Park Hyatt branding (see news, August 18).
