Australian flag carrier Qantas has said it will fly the first reconfigured Airbus A330-300 aircraft to feature its next-generation ‘business suite’ on the Sydney – Perth route from “late December”.
The first international route to receive the new product Qantas hopes will help re-attract premium customers to its cabins will be its daily Melbourne – Singapore service from “mid-January”.
The ‘business suite’ converts into a fully-flat bed just over 2 metres long and 64cm wide; with the ability to have the seat partially reclined during taxi, take-off and landing.
Qantas last week said it expects to post a significant profit for the July – December period following a hefty loss from January through to June.
However, things aren’t going according to plan at Qantas this week as a fourth plane within 48 hours was forced to make an emergency landing amid technical glitches.
