Emirates will next year add a second daily service to Barcelona.
The airline currently flies a 517-seat A380 on the Dubai to Barcelona El Prat route (see news, July 2013).
From May 2, the second service will be operated by a B777-200LR in a three-class configuration, with eight first class suites, 42 seats in business and 216 in economy.
Outbound flight EK188 will depart Dubai at 1545 and arrive at Barcelona at 2100 local time. Return flight EK189 will take-off from Barcelona at 2245 and land in Dubai at 0725 the following day.
Emirates started its Barcelona operation in summer 2012 (see news, July 2012).
Emirates senior vice president Hubert Frach said: "Barcelona continues to be a huge success story for Emirates. In less than three years we have not only launched a new service but also added significant capacity in order to keep up with customer demand.
"This extra daily flight is a major boost to our operations and firmly underscores our commitment to the Spanish market."
Emirates also operates a double-daily service to Madrid.
