Air France opens renovated JFK lounge

9 Dec 2014 by GrahamSmith

Air France has opened its renovated lounge at New York JFK airport.

The Terminal 1 facility is available to La Première (first class) and business passengers and Flying Blue Elite Plus members.

It contains a large mezzanine with a view of the runways, a "relaxation area with subdued lighting and comfortable seats", a Clarins well-being area offering free beauty treatments, and showers with Clarins products.

Two buffets serve hot and cold food and there is a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. On night flights, passengers can request to dine before boarding so they can get some sleep in the air.

Free wifi is available, while there is also a quiet work area and a selection of local and international magazines and newspapers in French and English.

La Première passengers receive a personalised welcome on arrival at JFK and are escorted to a VIP area of the lounge, located on the mezzanine.

Frédéric Gagey, Air France's chairman and CEO, said: "The inauguration of this beautiful new lounge completes our offer for our premium customers and is part of our strategy to upgrade all our products and service, both on the ground and on board."

Air France last week announced it will trial in-flight wifi on selected short and medium-haul services next summer (see news, December 1).
