Flybe has launched a new codeshare service with Cathay Pacific, enabling customers to purchase tickets from several regional UK cities, through Manchester and onto Hong Kong using Cathay’s new non-stop route.
The codeshare will offer connections to China on Flybe routes between Manchester and Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Exeter, Inverness, the Isle of Man and Southampton, once Cathay starts its four times-weekly Manchester-Hong Kong flights on December 8.
Customers will be able to purchase single tickets either through travel agents or the Cathay Pacific website.
Regional carrier Flybe already offers codeshare flights with Aer Lingus, Air France, British Airways, Etihad, Finnair and KLM, as well as interline partners including Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, Delta, Air Portugal and Qatar Airways.
Cathay Pacific announced its Manchester-Hong Kong route earlier this year (see news April 10), which will be the only direct, non-stop service between the two destinations.
The route will be served with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration, with 40 seats in business class, 32 in premium economy and 268 in economy.
