Thailand-based Minor Hotel Group has announced the addition of Avani Atrium Bangkok to its portfolio.
Located in the buzzing Asoke-Sukhumvit area of the Thai capital, the property was formerly Atrium Bangkok. After a US$8 million makeover, it has become the newest member – and the first in Thailand – of the Avani brand, which Minor launched back in 2011.
A design-oriented property, the hotel features a six-metre high artwork in the 12-storey atrium lobby, and the renovation has given the overall ambiance a contemporary style and upbeat vibe. It also offers Avani’s signature brand promises and amenities of “sleep satisfaction, a lifestyle zone, honest food and a warm welcome”.
There are 568 guest rooms and suites, and the top three of the 23 levels are executive floors. The club rooms and suites boast the 40” LCD TV paired with a DVD player as well as access to the executive lounge for benefits such as exclusive breakfast, complimentary evening cocktails and canapés.

The lobby is configured with social and private spaces that allow various options, be it interacting with fellow guests, catching up with friends, meeting for business or just chilling out. The Connect zone is equipped to satisfy all communication needs including emailing, online chats, web surfing and gadget charging, while the Pantry, located in the communal living area, provides a relaxing environment for enjoying drinks, snacks and light meals. Takeaway choices are also available.
There is also Public for all-day dining, and a teppanyaki restaurant, Benihana, is set to open in early 2015.

Leisure facilities include the pool (there is also a children’s pool), outdoor tanning area, the gym and aerobics studio, as well as steam rooms and sauna. This property does not have an Avani Spa, but there is a beauty salon and massage services.
The concierge is on call 24 hours a day and the tour desk can help make plans for your days and evenings out. Babysitting is available for the convenience of traveling families.
For corporate travellers there are seven meeting, boardroom, function and ballroom venues for 10 to 400 people, offering flexible layouts and seating options as well as latest audio-visual equipment.
The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle bus service to Makkasan Station, located just over a kilometre away, from which guests can catch the Airport Rail Link to the Suvarnabhumi airport every hour between 6am and 9pm. The Phetchburi MRT Station is within walking distance.
The Avani brand has six other properties in operation in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia and Mozambique, with a pipeline of further openings in Asia, the Indian Ocean and Africa.
