28 Nov 2014 by Clement Huang

Hilton Worldwide has announced the openings of two new DoubleTree by Hilton properties.

The first is DoubleTree by Hilton Queenstown – a 98-room hotel located in the bustling Kawarau Village, a short drive or water taxi ride from the centre of Queenstown, also known as “The Adventure Capital of the World”.

All rooms feature fully fitted kitchenettes with an oven, microwave and fridge, and an adjoining lounge area decorated in modern alpine style. Many offer views of Lake Wakatipu.

"Australasia is a key growth market for DoubleTree by Hilton, and the introduction of the brand into New Zealand marks a significant milestone as we continue to expand our offering to travellers in the region," said Ashley Spencer, vice president of operations, Australasia.

As is present in all DoubleTree properties, the brand’s signature chocolate chip cookie welcome will be available at the hotels. Guests can also enjoy an assortment of gourmet in-room tea and coffee choices, along with body care products that are built around the idea of "CARE", which stands for Create a Rewarding Experience for guests, team members and the community.

Meanwhile, the second opening is DoubleTree by Hilton Qinghai Golmud, also the first internationally branded hotel in Golmud.

As a county-level city in Qinghai province, Golmud is well known for being rich in salt lakes, with the Qarham Salt Lake estimated to be worth in excess of RMB15 trillion.

Each of the 112 guestrooms at DoubleTree by Hilton Qinghai Golmud offer a broad range of modern furnishings and amenities, including the brand’s signature Sweet Dreams sleep experience, 37-inch LCD TV with satellite channels, and bathrooms with exclusive Crabtree & Evelyn bath products.

Guests can also enjoy Western and Asian-influenced cuisines at the all-day Med Café; local Cantonese, Hunan and Qinghai flavours at My China Restaurant; and cocktails at either Hoh XII Lobby Lounge or Champion bar.

Recreational facilities range from an indoor swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness centre. A complimentary business centre is also available, as is free wifi in all guestrooms and public areas throughout the hotel.

Finally, there are more than 1,500sqm of meeting and event space. Weddings, business conferences and other social events may be held at the grand ballroom, three flexible meeting rooms or the outdoor courtyard.
