Steigenberger Hotel Group has signed an agreement for a new hotel in Changchun – its seventh property in China.
The second-tier city is the capital of Jilin province, located in northeast China. It is home to more than seven million people and has a strong automobile industry.
With more than 130 rooms, measuring 40sqm, along with 15 suites, the Steigenberger Hotel Changchun is set to open its doors in spring 2016.
Recreational facilities will include a spa and gym area complete with swimming pool. There will also be nearly 2,000sqm of bars and restaurants, including the German-style Paulaner Brauhaus, a Chinese restaurant, lobby bar, executive lounge and a sky bar. Finally, meeting facilities will consist of a ballroom and nine meeting rooms.
This announcement is part of the Steigenberger Hotel Group's overall expansion into China. Back in June, the group celebrated the opening of Hotel Maximilian in Beijing and has a further six projects in the pipeline, including five from its Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts brand and one InterCityHotel.
