Delta Air Lines will launch a daily Philadelphia to London Heathrow service next summer.
The US carrier will operate a B757 aircraft on the route, which is scheduled to begin on April 7.
Outbound service DL194 will depart Philadelphia International at 1904 and arrive in London at 0730 the next day. Return service DL195 will take-off from LHR at 1230 and laand in Philadelphia at 1601 local time.
The news comes as it emerged US Airways has decided to cancel its Philadephia to Edinburgh summer seasonal route - just six months after it began in May (see news, November 2013).
The Philadelphia to Heathrow route is also currently operated by British Airways.
Last week, Delta, which operates a transatlantic joint venture with Virgin Atlantic (see news, September 2013), announced it had placed an order for 50 Airbus aircraft to replace its older Boeing fleet (see news, November 21).
