ANZ to move to Tom Bradley International Terminal in LAX

24 Nov 2014 by Clement Huang

Air New Zealand (ANZ) will move its airport operations in Los Angeles to the newly refurbished Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) from December 3.

The carrier currently operates out of Terminal 2 alongside Star Alliance member airlines Air Canada and Air China. However, the move to TBIT will position it closer to the vast majority of Star’s members, including All Nippon Airways, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines.

Having served flights to Los Angeles from Auckland for almost 50 years, the move to a new terminal is significant, according to ANZ general manager customer experience Carrie Hurihanganui.

“Enhancing the customer experience at all points of the customer journey continues to be a key priority and this move goes a long way to improving the ground experience at what is one of our busiest offshore ports,” stated Hurihanganui.

Eligible ANZ customers will appreciate that they will have access to the Star Alliance Los Angeles Lounge, which the airline manages. Having opened just last year, the 1670 sqm facility offers an open-air terrace with panoramic views of the northern runway towards to Hollywood Hills.

Transiting customers will also no longer be restrained to remain in a dedicated transit facility and will instead be able to access the wider terminal while waiting for connecting flights. With 14,000 sqm of retail and dining space on offer, this will be a significant improvement over the older Terminal 2.
