An affiliate of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Fu Wah New Zealand to open a Park Hyatt hotel in Auckland.
“Fu Wah New Zealand believes in the Park Hyatt brand, having recently purchased Park Hyatt Melbourne, and we are confident Park Hyatt Auckland will provide guests with the luxurious accommodations, culinary expertise and high-quality service for which the Park Hyatt brand is known,” said Ratnesh Verma, senior vice president, real estate and development, Asia Pacific, Hyatt.
Currently slated to open in 2017, Park Hyatt Auckland will mark the company’s return to New Zealand, and be the first Park Hyatt-branded property in the city.
The hotel will be situated in the prime waterfront location on Auckland Harbour – itself expected to undergo a major revitalisation that will eventually see it turn into a world-class leisure, entertainment, culture and dining destination.
A total of 190 guestrooms will be on offer, along with three restaurants and bars. Meeting and event spaces will also be available, as will a 25m swimming pool and fitness centre.
2014 has been a busy year for the Park Hyatt brand, as it celebrated the opening of Park Hyatt Vienna in June, and Park Hyatt New York in August. There are also a total of 17 Park Hyatt hotels currently in development around the world.
