Delta Air Lines is expanding its luxury car terminal transfer service to New York La Guardia, Seattle Tacoma and Detroit Metropolitan airports this month.
The free programme shuttles "select high-value customers" from gate-to-gate in Porsche Cayenne 5 Hybrid vehicles.
It began as a trial at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport in 2011 and was last year expanded to include LAX, New York JFK and Minneapolis/St Paul (see news, November 2013).
Now select Sky Miles Diamond Medallion passengers connecting on flights at LA Guardia, Tacoma and Detroit Metropolitan are to be offered the service.
Those Diamond Medallion customers chosen are "greeted at the aircraft boarding door and escorted with their baggage to an awaiting vehicle and on to their connecting gate".
Delta said that passengers will be selected based on factors including flight operation, connection timing and member status.
Earlier this week, the US carrier announced that its business class passengers arriving at London Heathrow Terminal 3 now have the option of private car access at Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class Wing (see news, November 4).
