Accor opens Ibis Styles London Kensington

27 Oct 2014 by GrahamSmith

Accor has opened its fifth Ibis Styles property in London.

The 115-room Ibis Styles London Kensington features designs that incorporate landmarks in the surrounding area, including the Royal Albert Hall, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum.

The property, which is a two-minute walk from Earl's Court underground station, also contains a bar, breakfast area and web corner.

The guestrooms are themed and include Japanese-inspired sushi rooms (from the Great Exhibition of London), music rooms (a reference to the Royal Albert Hall) and parrot rooms (a homage to the Science Museum).

Each room contains the brand's trademark "Sweet Bed by ibis Styles", an en-suite bathroom, a full-length mirror and a flatscreen television, as well as free wifi, air conditioning and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Inge Van Ooteghem, Accor senior vice-president, said: "Ibis Styles Kensington London is located in such a beautiful and culturally rich part of the capital and the story of the hotel truly reflects this, from its statement pieces down to the little details."

There are four other Ibis Styles hotels in London — one opposite the Excel exhibition centre and the others in Southwark, Leyton and Croydon.

Earlier this year, Accor opened the first Ibis Styles hotel in the north-west, in Liverpool (see news, February 11).
