Korean Air codeshare with LAN Peru

22 Oct 2014 by Clement Huang

Korean Air has extended its partnership with LAN Peru, which will soon see the two airlines codeshare on the Seoul–Los Angeles–Lima route from October 21.

The two have been codesharing for the Seoul–Los Angeles–Santiago route since 2005.

With the new agreement, travellers will be able to book for the codeshare flights on either carrier's online platform, and check their baggage though to the final destination. However, there will be no reciprocal mileage accrual and redemption opportunities for each other's loyal programme.

But the deal allows Korean Air passengers easier connections at Los Angeles onto LAN Peru flights to Lima, and the same applies to LAN Peru customers when they change to Korean Air-operated flights between Seoul and Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles–Lima leg will be operated daily, with the away leg departing the US city at 0015 and arriving in Lima at 1055 the same day. The return service from Lima leaves at 1240 and arrives back in Los Angeles at 1920.

Meanwhile, Korean Air’s service to Los Angeles departs from Seoul Incheon at 2000 and arrives in the American city at 1510 the same day. The return flight departs from Los Angeles at 2330 to arrive back in Incheon at 0440 two days later (owing to the 16 hours time difference between the two cities).
