8 Oct 2014 by GrahamSmith

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is to open a Dubai property on November 16, its first in the UAE.

The Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach is located at the northern end of Jumeirah Beach Road, about a ten-minute drive from Burj Khalifa and downtown Dubai.

The five-storey property is set on a 5.6-hectare estate with a 270-metre natural beach. Its 237 rooms, which include 49 suites, start from 70 sqm. All have balconies offering views of the Arabian Gulf or Dubai skyline.

Food and drink venues will include an all-day international restaurant, a pool and beachside seafood eatery, the club-style Hendricks bar and the rooftop Mercury lounge, offering 360-degree views.

A building housing a nightclub and four independent restaurants — two by Jean-Georges Vongerichten and one a sister branch of London Peruvian eatery Coya — will also be located on the grounds.

The hotel will have a spa, three pools, a gym, tennis courts and 1,200 sqm of event space.

Simon Casson, regional vice-president and general manager of the property, told Business Traveller that the property formed part of ambitious growth plans for the group, which currently has 94 hotels. He said: "We'll be at 130 within five years."
