All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have established a commercial partnership that will see the two carriers codeshare with one another and offer reciprocal benefits to customers.
Subject to regulatory approval, the partnership is set to commence from October 26.
As part of the codeshare agreement, ANA will add its “NH” code to PAL-operated flights between Philippine and Japan. It will also have its marketing code placed onto PAL’s domestic flights within the Philippines.
Through check-in will be provided for the codeshare flights, thereby reducing the minimum connection times at Manila airport from 120 minutes to 90 minutes when connecting to onward domestic flights in the Philippines.
Likewise, PAL will add its “PR” code on flights between Japan and the Philippines and domestic flights within Japan operated by ANA.
It is highly likely that mileage accrual and redemption will be available for members of both airline's frequent flyer programmes, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Update ANA will also be codesharing with Brazil's TAM Airlines on two new flights to Sao Paulo, one departing from Paris and the other from Frankfurt. These will join the existing single codeshare service to Brazil's commercial capital. In addition, ANA will also place its code onto five additional TAM-operated routes beyond Sao Paulo, including Rio de Janeiro, Londrina, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Manaus and Curitiba.
