Boeing and China Eastern Airlines (CEA) have celebrated the delivery of the carrier’s first B777-300ER.
CEA has an existing order of 19 other 777-300ERs, and will be operating the widebody aircraft on flights between its base in China and North America.
The carrier currently operates flights from Shanghai to Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto, and will be looking to boost frequencies on these routes in the future.
Los Angeles and New York will be the first North American destinations to see the new 777-300ER starting from November.
As reported previously by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific (see here), CEA recently unveiled a new livery design – the first in 25 years. The updated logo will debut on the new 777-300ER.
The aircraft has been configured to offer three different cabins. Passengers will find six first class suites, 52 business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, and 258 economy seats positioned in a 3-4-3 layout.
