Virgin Australia has unveiled its new "suite-style" business class product.
The cabin upgrade features a more spacious 1-2-1 configuration with 80-inch fully-flat seats that can be adjusted into a number of different positions.
Designed by Tangerine London and manufactured by B/E Aerospace, the seat offers direct aisle access and includes a 16 to 18-inch IFE touchscreen and multiple lighting settings.
The new cabin will be available on board Virgin Australia's A330 and B777 aircraft from March 2015. The A330 fleet will be retrofitted first with the last aircraft due to enter service in August next year.
The B777 fleet will begin offering the product from November 2015, with the entire roll-out expected to be completed early the following year. It will feature a redesigned business class bar and reduced premium economy cabin will be introduced to provide guests with three inches more legroom.
John Borghetti, Virgin Australia's CEO, said: "Today marks a new era for our premium customer experience both domestically and internationally. We believe the sophisticated new suites will set a new standard in business class travel, not just in Australia but around the world."
Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines yesterday announced they are introducing the world's first inter-loyalty programme conversion system (see news, September 24).
