Starwood to open first hotel on Asian side of Istanbul

19 Sep 2014 by GrahamSmith

Starwood will open its first hotel on the Asian side of Istanbul later this year.

The new-build Four Points by Sheraton Istanbul Dudullu will be the brand's first property in Turkey. It is scheduled to open "at the end of 2014".

The 182-room hotel will be located a 20-minute drive from Sabiha Gokcen Airport.

Part of a multi-use complex, it will feature four meeting rooms, three small boardrooms, complimentary wifi in public areas, an all-day dining restaurant, bar and fitness centre.

The hotel will open as a franchise agreement with Ever Group.

Starwood currently has ten hotels across five brands in Turkey, of which four are in Istanbul — Sheraton Istanbul Maslak Hotel, Sheraton Istanbul Atakoy Hotel, W Istanbul, and Le Meridien Istanbul Etiler.

Hilton Worldwide has just opened its first Hilton Hotels & Resorts property on the Asian side of Istanbul (see news, September 16).
