Morgans Hotel Group will open Mondrian London at Sea Containers on September 30.
Located on the capital’s Southbank, the 359-room hotel is the first-ever Mondrian-branded property outside of the US.
It features 510 sqm of meeting space, a cocktail bar and a rooftop bar, a restaurant, a 56-seat private screening room, seven “junket” rooms with terraces and river views and a bathhouse and spa.
The hotel was designed by Design Research Studio under the creative direction of Tom Dixon (see news, March 2012). The property was originally conceived as a hotel when plans were drawn up in the 1970s, but the building eventually became office space upon completion in the 1980s.
Deluxe Room with river view
Morgans Hotel Group currently operates two hotels in the UK, both in London — the Sanderson and St Martins Lane.
