China Airlines non-stop to JFK

10 Sep 2014 by Clement Huang

Taiwan’s largest carrier, China Airlines (CI) will relaunch its Taipei (Taoyuan) to New York (JFK) non-stop flights from October 2. The 14-hour flight will be operated by a B747-400 ‘jumbo jet’ in a three-class configuration (first, business, economy). Click here to view a seat plan.

While the outbound flight from Taiwan will operate direct, the inbound will operate via Anchorage’s Ted Stevens for technical reasons. The new non-stop routing replaces CI’s current service between the two airports via Osaka Kansai.

Beginning in February 2015, the 3x weekly service will switch to using one of the Taiwanese carrier's soon-to-be-delivered B777-300ERs. These new aircraft will not feature a first class cabin, but instead be equipped with the carrier’s newly launched premium economy class. Flights will be non-stop in both directions as soon as the B777-300ER is put on the route. Click here to view the new inflight products on the B777-300ER.
