Melia Hotels International has announced it will open its first Me brand property in the US next year.
The 129-room Me Miami will replace the Casa Moderna Miami Hotel at 1100 Biscayne Boulevard. It is scheduled to open its doors next spring.
The property will feature two rooftop swimming pools, a spa and more than 465 sqm of renovated space that will be converted into new dining, bar and event areas.
One of the hotel's restaurant will include the brand's first STK Rebel, a "casual version of the traditional steakhouse which will include indoor and outdoor dining options".
Gabriel Escarrer, Melia Hotels' CEO and vice chairman, said: "We are incredibly excited about the launch of Me Miami and are thrilled to begin this project in one of the most iconic cities in the United States."
Me Miami will be owned by private equity, alternative investment manager CGI Merchant Group.
