Second Grand Mercure opens in Beijing

20 Aug 2014 by ReggieHo

French hospitality group Accor has announced the opening of Grand Mercure Beijing Dongcheng, the second property in the Chinese capital under the upmarket brand.

Dongcheng is one of the most major districts of Beijing, and it is also where world-famous sites such as the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Tiananmen Square are located. Guests of the hotel can easily access the metro system through Beixiqiao Station – a definite plus in a city where traffic congestion is a daily occurence and taxis are hard to come by during peak hours. Four stops on Line 5 to Dongdan and you are near the commercial hub of Wangfujing. Dongzhimen Airport Express Station is only two more blocks away.

For meetings, there is a pillarless ballroom for more than 300 guests and seven multi-purpose function rooms with natural light. Dining options include 101 All Day Dining Restaurant, Chinese Restaurant and Lobby Bar. An executive as well as gym and sauna complete the package.
