Heathrow Express suspended this weekend

19 Aug 2014 by BusinessTraveller

Passengers travelling to or from Heathrow airport this weekend should note that the Heathrow Express will be suspended for 36 hours to allow Network Rail to carry out work on the Crossrail project.

The service will be shut from 0001 on Saturday August 23, until 1225 on Sunday August 24.

During this time the Heathrow Connect stopping service will also be part suspended, running between Paddington and Hayes and Harlington only. Travellers can use the 140 bus to travel on from Hayes and Harlington to Heathrow free of charge.

In a statement Keith Harding, operations director for Heathrow Express, said: “We recognise this is not good timing for people planning to travel between Heathrow and Central London over the Bank Holiday weekend.”

“We hope, by giving our customers plenty of prior warning, we can help them continue with their travel plans without too much hassle.’’

According to the Transport for London website, the Piccadilly Line (which serves all Heathrow terminals) will be running as normal this weekend.
