Etihad to fly second daily A380 to Heathrow

14 Aug 2014 by GrahamSmith

Etihad Airways will add a second daily A380 service to London Heathrow next March.

The carrier earlier this year announced plans to debut its superjumbo on its Abu Dhabi to LHR route on December 27 (see news, March 4).

Etihad is scheduled to add its first ten A380s to its fleet that month and will fly the aircraft first to London and then to New York, Sydney and Melbourne.

Now it has announced that a second daily A380 service will serve Heathrow from March 1, reports airlineroute.net.

The superjumbo will replace the A340-600 that currently plies the route as EY017 and EY018.

Outbound service EY017 departs Abu Dhabi at 1325 and arrived in London at 1730 local time, while return flight EY018 takes-off from LHR at 2020 and lands in Abu Dhabi at 0720 the following day.

December's inaugural A380 service will see flight EY011 depart AUH at 0235 and arrive at Heathrow at 0635 local time, and return service EY012 leaving LHR at 0915 and landing in Abu Dhabi at 2005.
