Garuda to fly Jakarta-Amsterdam-London

13 Aug 2014 by GrahamSmith

Garuda Indonesia will launch a Jakarta-Amsterdam-London Gatwick service next month.

From September 8, the airline will operate a B777-300ER in a three-class configuration — with eight seats in first class, 38 in business and 268 in economy — on the five-times weekly route. To view a seatplan, click here.

Earlier this year, Garuda abandoned plans to fly non-stop between Jakarta and Gatwick due to being unable to obtain slots at the airport during the summer (see news, March 17).

The new service will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Outbound service GA089 will depart LGW at 1310, arriving at Amsterdam Schiphol at 1515, before taking-off again at 1700 and landing in Jakarta at 1140 the next day, where it will connect with Garuda's onward services to Australia.

Return flight GA088 will depart Jakarta at 0040, arriving in Amsterdam at 0940, before taking-off again at 1155 to land in London at 1200.

Emirsyah Satar, Garuda's president and CEO, said: "The opening of the London to Jakarta service will support economic activities between Indonesia and the UK, in light of the growing trade transaction between the countries each year."
