Royal Brunei to resume LHR to Ho Chi Minh service

6 Aug 2014 by GrahamSmith

Royal Brunei Airlines is resuming its Brunei to Ho Chi Minh City route in October.

The move mean passengers can now fly with the airline from London Heathrow to Ho Chi Minh City, with a transfer at Brunei International Airport.

The Brunei to Ho Chi Minh City route was suspended in 2011 when the airline cut a number of Australasian routes (see news, June 2011).

The four-times weekly service to Vietnam's largest city will resume on October 17.

Royal Brunei Airlines will use a B787 between London and Brunei. The Brunei to Ho Chi Minh leg will be operated by an A319 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, while on Sundays an A320 will be used.

Dermot Mannion, Royal Brunei's deputy chairman, said: "Our commercial team do regular route studies to develop and increase connectivity for our markets.

"In their latest studies, Ho Chi Minh City has emerged a frontrunner in providing connections for key markets from Melbourne, Dubai and London and also for regional destinations like Kota Kinabalu."
