Ryanair serves up Lavazza coffee

22 Jul 2014 by GrahamSmith

Ryanair has teamed up with Lavazza to offer its passengers premium coffee through a new filter cup design.

The new cup centres on a filter lid, designed by Retail in Motion, that works by filtering the ground coffee as it is being drunk.

The Lavazza coffee is available on all Ryanair flights to/from the UK and Italy.

Robin Kiely, the airline's head of communication, said: "Ryanair is pleased to extend our new partnership with Lavazza and we are now offering authentic Italian coffee on all Ryanair flights to and from the UK and Italy.

"Ryanair is the first airline in the world to use this innovative new filter lid. This latest technology uses real, ground Lavazza coffee from 100 per cent Arabica blend, sourced from Central and South

America with notes of dark chocolate and a full-bodied taste, ensuring our customers can enjoy real Italian coffee."

Last week, Ryanair launched its new mobile app, allowing passengers to use their smartphone to book flights, check-in and as an electronic boarding pass (see news, July 14).
