Finnair and American Airlines' merger partner US Airways next week launch a transatlantic codeshare agreement.
The deal means Finnair passengers have more options when travelling from Europe to the US on direct US Airways flights to Charlotte and Philadelphia. Customers can also book travel on US Airways flights beyond New York JFK to Phoenix.
US Airways passengers can now book Finnair flights from JFK and Toronto Pearson to Helsinki and beyond. The codeshare extends to additional Finnair flights from Helsinki, providing access to 11 destinations including Brussels, Oslo, Stockholm and Zurich.
US Airways' Dividend Miles and Finnair Plus frequent flyer programme members are able to earn and redeem miles on flights operated by the other carrier.
Ticket are now available to book for the codeshare flights, which starts on July 24.
Earlier this year, US Airways joined the Atlantic joint business partnership with BA, Iberia and Finnair as an affiliate member earlier this year. It will remain as such until it fully integrates with American (see news, January 31).
