Intercontinental Hotels Group has opened its second Even Hotels property.
Just weeks after debuting the lifestyle brand in Norwalk, Connecticut (see news, June 25), IHG has now opened a second Even hotel in Rockville, Maryland.
The 167-room, seven-storey Even Hotel Rockville held a soft opening at the end of last month and opened fully last week.
Kirk Kinsell, IHG's president of the Americas, said: "Two years ago, IHG introduced the Even Hotels brand, pinpointing a unique opportunity to offer an entire hotel experience focused on wellness in order to meet the changing needs of our guests.
"Following the opening of the first property in Norwalk, we are pleased to announce the opening of the second Even Hotel."
The concept behind the new IHG lifestyle brand is to encourage and facilitate wellbeing and is focused around four key areas — exercise, eat, work and rest.
The brand has a further three properties in the pipeline in Brooklyn, New York, and two hotels in midtown Manhattan.
