Malaysia and AA extend codeshare agreement

11 Jul 2014 by GrahamSmith
Oneworld members Malaysia Airlines and American Airlines have updated their codeshare agreement with the addition of 260 US domestic connecting flights. MAS first signed a codeshare agreement with American Airlines in March 2013, initially to five US cities, before expanding to 16 cities with almost 200 weekly flights. From August 1, 11 more US cities will be added, via Los Angeles and New York. This, MAS said, will "eventually add another 260 domestic flights". Malaysia will also codeshare on AA services to Dallas from Hong Kong and Seoul from July 11 and July 24 respectively. Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, Malaysia Airlines' group CEO, said: "Malaysia Airlines is pleased to offer our guests more connections across the USA through our codeshare partner American Airlines. "Travel seamlessly on our 'MH' code flights on a number of domestic services operated by American Airlines between Los Angeles and New York to major cities like Austin, Dallas, Washington, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, St Louis and more." Last month, American Airlines launched daily services between Dallas/Fort Worth and Hong Kong and Shanghai (see news, June 16). aa.com, malaysiaairlines.com Graham Smith
